Joomla core - email send to a friend hack
Written by Administrator
Friday, 20 July 2007

Joomla com_content hack The core Joomla! "Email" / "Send to a friend" / "Tell a friend" function is less than beautiful. This hack is a quick attempt to make it a little prettier and it also adds the functionality of a space for a personal message to be sent with the link. It includes a graphic (whose URL is defined in the language file...just change the URL in the language definitions if you have a graphic in a different spot).

Click here to send this page to a friend (and see what the changes look like--normally in a pop-up window).

This version is for Joomla 1.0.12.

Faves

v. 1.0.01 (minor bug fixed Jan. 16, 2007)

A simple module that displays a graphic linked to various "favorites" and "social bookmarking" sites for the current Joomla! page on your site. You can specify which URL to use for the graphics which link to the faves, and you can turn each one on or off for customization.
(Currently supporting: Digg, Google bookmarks, Reddit, StumbleUpon, del.icio.us, Technorati Faves, Yahoo bookmarks)

mod_stumbleupon: Link your Joomla pages to StumbleUpon
Written by Administrator

file icon I have created a simple module that links the current page to the StumbleUpon "thumbs up" rating so that SU users can easily mark your pages (even if they don't have the SU toolbar). Test it out in the upper right hand corner of this page. You can specify which graphic it uses to link on (it defaults to one of the SU default graphics) by changing the URL in the module parameters. It works with OpenSEF but I haven't tested it with other SEF components. Feel free to comment below if something didn't work or if you have a suggestion. Click here to download .

Community Builder - Front end admin / profile views hack
Written by Administrator
Wednesday, 04 October 2006

Events Calendar Legend Here's a slight variation on the great Community Builder component which extends functionality slightly to allow for:

1) Specific user IDs to be tagged in the admin panel as "Front end admins." This means when a user with a "front end admin" id is logged in and goes to a profile view, they get a link allowing them to edit the profile from the front end. (In fact, they may not even have back end access depending on your setup). Simply replace the default files after installation with the contents of the zip file.
2) An additional option in the profile views configuration to allow profile views only for registered users (so unregistered can't even click the list items to try to get the profile).
Based on CB 1.0.1 files. Download .

JosComment Most Active Module

CB List/Profile Hack I'll be very honest, I've done very little to this module. I've made very minor modifications to the "AkoComment Most Active" module from  Tomas Hanzelka so that it works with JosComment. (Since I made the switch from AkoComment to JosComment, I needed a "most recent comments" module and this one did the trick nicely).
